There's no reason to wait. Experience your future now.
At Johnson & Wales University, you’ll find a professionally-focused education with plenty of internships, professional development and leadership opportunities so you can build your résumé before you graduate. You’ll take classes in your major as early as your freshman year, which means you’ll learn about subject areas you’re really excited about sooner.
Choose from programs in arts & sciences, business, hospitality and culinary arts. Learn in small classes led by faculty who’ll get to know you and serve as your career mentors. Many have significant industry experience in the field they teach – and can help you make connections for internships and full-time positions. It’s all designed so that when you graduate, you’ll be ahead of the competition.
Internships are a huge part of what makes a JWU education different. No matter which program you choose, you’ll find internship opportunities. More than 540 JWU students at our campus in North Miami interned last year with companies and organizations such as Mondrian South Beach, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Whitehaus Media Group, Breakers Hotel, Sanctuary Golf Club, Noma (in Copenhagen) and Carnival Cruise Lines. And of all our North Miami students who interned, 58% were offered employment at the end of their internship.
We offer dozens of student clubs and organizations, to enhance your résumé and to kick your social life up a notch. Choose from fraternity and sorority life, recreational clubs and professional organizations. Can’t find one you like? We’ll help you start one.
Like to keep it moving? Get involved with Wildcat athletics and our teams such as golf, basketball, soccer, volleyball, cross-country and track. Intramurals, too: billiards, Ultimate Frisbee, flag football and softball.
Take a dip in our on-campus pool, or workout in our 35,000-square foot Wildcat Center, home to our fitness center and fitness studio where you’ll find classes for body sculpting, Capoeira, kickboxing, yoga and more.

At most schools, career services is an office you visit just before you graduate during your senior year. We start career development your first year, both in class and through a wide range of career and professional development seminars. But what really sets us apart are the companies we bring to campus to recruit JWU students for internships and for full-time positions. Last year, we brought companies to campus nearly 300 times, resulting in almost 500 student interviews.
