Florida Sunshine Tour – February 1-10, 2018

Come learn firsthand why students should consider all that Florida has to offer in higher education. Find out why living in a subtropical environment isn’t the only reason to attend a Florida school. On this exclusive tour, you’ll visit top private colleges and universities and have the opportunity to tour campuses, as well as meet students, faculty and key administrators. The tour is tentatively scheduled from February 1-10, 2018—what better time to visit private colleges and universities in Florida? We ask that all counselors participate in the entire tour to fully discover the diverse collegiate environment our state has to offer.

Invitations: Tour participation is “invitation only.” Please contact a participating college or university representative and request they add your name to their invitation list for the next year’s tour.

Colleges: Colleges and Universities on the Florida Sunshine tour in 2016 are Barry University, Eckerd College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Flagler College, Florida Institute of Technology, Florida Southern College, Jacksonville University, Lynn University, Keiser University Flagship Campus, Nova Southeastern University, Rollins College, Saint Leo UniversityStetson University, University of Tampa.

Your cost: For your $300 participation fee, the tour provides round-trip airfare between your home city and tour origination city and the return flight from the tour termination city back to your home. Standard hotel accommodations include a double occupancy room. Full transportation is provided to and from each hotel and between all colleges and universities. The majority of your meals will be provided by the host institutions. The $300 is not returned to you.

International counselors: International counselors participating in the tour do not pay the $300 commitment fee, but are asked to purchase their own round trip airline ticket to the tour from their home country.

Itinerary: The tour visits two college campuses on most days with two half-days of free time to enjoy Florida within the nine day tour. Each college campus will prepare a three-hour visit and provide a meal.

Hotels: The Sunshine Tour provides double occupancy rooms in top Florida hotels in the cities we visit. In most cases, suite-style hotels are used. Typical hotels on the tour include the Embassy Suites in Orlando, Tampa, and Deerfield Beach, Doubletree Suites in Melbourne Beach, and Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, FL.
